AI bug?

Postby Sandman25 » Sat Dec 12, 2015 8:32 pm

I was fighting an Echeneis who deals Ice attacks of course. My front liners were Headless and Zombie, both are resistant to Ice. I summoned Huo Shu with Mending hoping to heal those fronliners as needed. On first turn Huo Shu healed the Zombie indeed but on second turn it swapped positions with Headless who was at 48 out of 49 max HP. I guess AI decided that Mending is not required in this situation which is reasonable but why did it swap positions? Is it because Headless has speed 85? But Huo Shu is weak to Ice while Echeneis is resistant to Ice and is not weak to Fire (which is another element of attacks of my Huo Shu).

Hmmm.. only thing missing info wise that may explain it was, how was Headless' SP pool doing? Very low SP can also cause a swap. :D

My bad, I didn't think SP is important for Headless. Does AI care about resistance/weakness to element of hostile monsters? Or does it try to maximize damage to enemy? I mean being weak to Ice (Huo Shu, +50% damage) instead of being resistant to Ice (Headless, -75% damage) is worse than potential increase in damage (I compare basic 55 power attack of Headless assuming it was out of SP to Fiery Claw 85 power attack of Huo Shi). First ratio is 150/25=6, second ratio is just 85/55=1.5
I guess AI missed that all demons who were adjacent to Echeneis were resisting Ice.
Even if Echeneis was using basic attack vs Headless, it was 55 power of Echeneis vs 55 power of Headless instead of 70*1.5 power of Chilling Touch vs 85 power of Fiery Claw.

Yeah, the AI generally speaking is much more concerned about what it can do than what will happen to it. :)
